Child support

Specialisation in Family Law

We consider the financial options and the needs to be addressed to ensure the obligation is met.

Child support includes everything that is indispensable for the maintenance of children under 18: food, shelter, clothing, medical care and education.

Separation or divorce does not exempt parents from continuing to provide for these needs of their children.

Child support can also be set in cases where joint custody is chosen.

This means that the expenses of the children will be assessed and the parents will meet them in proportion to their respective financial capacities.

If the child support is not paid, enforcement action may be taken against the debtor parent. Following any garnishment or seizure which may be ordered, the child support will be paid and the debtor will have to pay costs and reimburse any procedural expenses incurred.
